OVERVIEW

Creating the Optimal Environment
for Skin Recovery

Restoring healthy skin requires more than delivering beneficial ingredients. It also requires conditions that allow them to work at their full potential. Chitogen™ helps support and stabilize the skin's microenvironment, providing a foundation that enhances the performance of other active ingredients.

CORE TECHNOLOGY 01

Water-soluble carboxymethyl chitosan

Conventional chitosan dissolves only under acidic conditions, which has limited its use in skin applications. MEDIFAB introduced carboxymethyl groups into chitosan to enable stable dissolution in neutral water and physiological environments.

CORE TECHNOLOGY 02

LTG (Liquid-to-Gel)

Maintains a neutral, liquid state before application. Once absorbed, it reacts with the skin's ionic environment and transforms into a dense gel matrix, helping active ingredients remain localized within the skin for longer periods.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

Chitogen™ vs.
existing regenerative biomaterials

Material Key features Limitations of material use Chitogen™ differentiators from MEDIFAB proprietary technology
Chitosan Excellent biocompatibility and antimicrobial properties[6-8] Soluble only under acidic conditions, limiting injectable use[6-8] A water-soluble chitosan-based MEDIFAB proprietary ingredient that gels in the body via LTG technology
PLLA Biodegradable polymer that induces collagen production[1-3] Particle-based formulation requiring reconstitution; tissue reactions reported after treatment[1-3] A liquid formulation enabling more uniform injection versus PLLA
PDLLA More uniform degradation compared with PLLA[1-3] Particle-based formulation with potential for early tissue reaction[1-3] A uniform non-particulate liquid enabling even distribution in tissue versus PDLLA
PDRN Used for tissue recovery and skin improvement[4,5] Relatively rapid in-body degradation may limit persistence[4,5] Gels in the body via LTG versus PDRN, creating a stable and sustained environment for active ingredients
Exosome Bioactive vesicles supporting intercellular signaling[5] Manufacturing standardization, quality consistency, and storage stability are key considerations[5] A nano-reservoir structure versus exosomes that helps prevent premature degradation and can be combined with bioactive ingredients
